Increase Your Brain Power

One of the best ways to maximize brain power, increase one’s IQ and go deep into your subconscious where untapped brain waves and energies lie, is through the system called “Brainwave Entertainment”.

Out of all the various methods I have used and practiced with to help increase my IQ, this is definitely the most fun and enjoyable one.

It’s very simple actually. You just have to tune in to a relaxing music with frequency that travels in a similar pattern as that of our brain waves. This way, our brain’s functionality is enhanced. It does sound awesome (it really is!). The sounds are manipulated to act like brainwaves and influence our brain’s frequencies.

As you try different systems, you have to be aware that not all of them will be working for you. I have tried several and of those techniques, I have found some that worked. Below are the systems and techniques I have tried:

Brain Evolution System, Hypnosis, Brain Power Pro, Subliminal CDs and Genius Mindset – These are the ones that really worked for me. Some of them offer a 21-day trial option, so make sure you try it first before you buy. Try this one here!

IMMRAMA – This technique didn’t do anything for me (although it may work well for others).

Brain Sync – This one was also not effective for me (again, it may have better effect on others).
Stimulating the brain through the Brain Evolution System is one of the most powerful and effective methods available today for improving your IQ and brain power. Its effects are directed towards the brain and the results are very similar to a gym exercise: working out gives VERY noticeable results.

After using the Brain Evolution System (the one that finally worked), my thinking became sharper and everything now seems a lot clearer and simpler than before. :) ).

My stress levels went down, I am more relaxed and happy and my well-being greatly improved. I seldom get sick and I just feel excited about life most of the time if not all the time! My moods really changed (so my husband told me…).

For 30 minutes each day, I used it at noon and when I get fatigued. I was astonished and amazed to find out for myself that right after each session, I’d always feel revitalized and rejuvenated. My concentration greatly improved as well as my problem solving abilities. The boost it gave me at noon time was truly an extraordinary bonus for me.

To summarize, I urge you to try the Brainwave Entertainment System. It doesn’t really matter which one, as long as you find it effective and useful, go for it! Using this technique is one of the perfect tools you can get to help enhance your brain power. Plus, it’s also fun!

5 Easy Steps to Help Ace Your GMAT

Taking the GMAT should be easy and breezy if you prepare well for them. Good for you if you have high IQ and you're really good at reading comprehension and math. But for those like me who did it before and came out with laughable scores, fret not. It is not yet too late to increase your IQ and ace your GMAT. There are many ways you can do to help boost your brain power and help prepare yourself for this much anticipated test. I’ve already shared with you a number of tips before. Here are some more:

Step 1

There are a lot of available GMAT practice tests that you can buy on bookstores or online. Practice on them. This will boost your mental power, refresh your skills and revitalize your memory on long forgotten concepts, formulas and rules. You can gauge where your weaknesses are and what skills you can maximize. Practice tests can also help narrow your focus.

Step 2

GMAT is a computer adaptive test. After you have practiced manually using a basic pen, paper and timer set, try to get reviewers that come with a CD next time. Or if there are available online practice tests, exercise on them! This will place you in a better mindset and let you experience what it's like to take the test especially for first time takers.

Step 3

Google GMAT reviews and read those on Amazon to know which books were bought by most as their review material for GMAT. Typically, the more expensive ones get better review. So be prepared to shell out some money too. At least you are assured that you will get what you paid for and in the process your brain power was increased.

Step 4

Find the time to visit a bookstore and look at GMAT practice test books. Observe the way they are organized by question or level of difficulty. This will give you an idea of how questions will be given on the actual GMAT.

Step 5

It will also be wise to ask your friends and family who have taken the GMAT before. Gather information on what books they read, which review materials they found very useful and helpful, etc. Stick your study schedule and be consistent and diligent.

Check out the other advices and ways I’ve posted here on my blog before. For those who are struggling with their low IQ, it will tremendously be of help if you try hypnosis and brainwave techniques first before you even begin thinking of taking GMAT again. Studying another genius system to help boost your brain power will also increase your IQ the way it did mine and give you that much needed boost when you start reviewing for this exam. You think be able to think more clearly, think faster and solve problems a lot more quickly.

By following these tips I’m giving you, I’m sure you are on your way to acing your GMAT.

How Can You Realize Your Brain Power

If you want to realize the potential of your brain power, you must be able to control your subconscious mind. We can do this by changing the things we focus on. This is because our thoughts have a direct effect on the way our subconscious mind works. I’m sure this piece of information is new to you. Many believe that it is impossible to train the subconscious mind. However, if you know the right techniques, you will be able to improve your brain power and raise your IQ in the process.

You must be able to try working with several techniques to see what will work to your individual needs in order to find the particular technique that will help you best. One way to do this is to rethink then reapply your theories and assumptions about a specific situation. The outcome may be the same but you will have gained a more positive outlook about the situation. Try to take into consideration the data that is available to you. By doing so, you will train your mind to determine the circumstances rather than jump straight to conclusions.

We all know that being able to laugh is the best kind of medicine there ever is. It prevents stress and frees the mind of unnecessary worries. Plus it gives the brain its much needed oxygen thereby revitalizing it and giving it more power. Therefore, learn how to laugh. In order for you to realize the full potential of your mind, you have to be able to recognize not just your own successes but your own mistakes as well.

Furthermore, lessen TV watching. Researches do show evidence that watching TV decreases your brain power. There is nothing your brain can work with except to just accept the images in the tube. This slows down your brain and has the opposite effect of any physical activity. Or if you really can’t avoid it, exercise while watching TV. Choose the program to watch, one that will allow your mind to work instead of just letting it sit idly.

It would be best though if you do more games, quizzes and puzzles on your free time. Choose levels that expand your current capabilities. You can also start learning a new language or a new skill like driving a car if you still don’t know how. Not only will you exercise your brain power, but you will also feel a great sense of achievement after having done so.

These are just some advices I have for you to help broaden your mind and increase your brain power. Many people have also subscribed to the effective techniques of the Brainwave System, Hypnosis and Genius Mindset. I'd say give these techniques a try and see for yourself the wonderful effects they can bring to your brain power. In the end, whichever you choose, just remember to also make it fun. Practice any of the exercises at least once a day, every day. Anything that is worth doing always involves time and practice so keep at it. Gradual changes will surely emerge. I am sure, you will be amazed at the progress you will attain over time.

For more practical ways in increasing your brain power, do check out my other posts. You may also email me at Karen@samuelprime.com for any questions and suggestions you may have.

5 Notes on Acing Your GMAT

If you want to get into a good business school of your choice, better ace your GMAT or the Graduate Management Admissions Test. This is a requirement of most, if not all, business schools. The scoring of the multiple choice part is on a scale of 200 to 800 while the essay part is scored on a scale of 0 to 6. A score of at least 650 is required by top business schools and by doing well on the math portion, you will be able to boost your overall GMAT score. Of course it helps that you have high IQ. But if in case you know that your IQ is of the average range, there are ways and techniques you can engage in that will help boost your IQ and increase your brain power. This will make the GMAT experience a lot easier to face and you will be surely on your way to acing it.

Note 1
It is important to have an understanding of how the test is structured. There are 37 multiple choice questions for math and they must be completed in 75 minutes. Since GMAT is given via computer adaptive format, you must answer the questions in the order that they will be given to you. There will be no going back to previous questions. The more correct answers you get, the more challenging the next set of questions will be, which is good because they will help give you high scores.

Note 2
The 37 multiple choice questions consist of 22 problem solving questions and the remaining 15 pertain to data sufficiency questions. In terms of subjects, expect around 10 ratio, 10 algebra, 8 number, 4 geometry, 3 miscellaneous and 2 set theory questions.

Note 3
You must be very knowledgeable in math, formulas and calculations because no calculators will be allowed inside. You must be able to do quick multiplication and division formulas on paper. You must also have exceptional skills in charts and graphs.

Note 4
Typically, you must be able to answer each question in 2 minutes. It is important to pace yourself properly during the exam. This will prevent you from cramming on other more challenging questions. If you are falling far behind, you may guess wisely on problems that you are usually having trouble with and do your best on those that you find easy.

Note 5
You will get a lower score if you leave any questions blank. Better answer them incorrectly than leave them blank. But of course, if you can’t answer them correctly, guess wisely.

I hope you find these advices helpful. You will find it more valuable if you’ve already taken steps to increase your IQ the way I did before. I took hypnosis, did the brain evolution system and studied how to be a genius. I actually owe my GMAT score to them. Try them as well! Many people have already done so and it also helped them ace their GMAT. For ane comments, advice or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to email me at Karen@samuelprime.com.

3 Clues to Maximize Your Brain Power

Many of us are aware of the fact that we only use a small percentage of our brain, 10% to be precise. Could you imagine the kind of world we could have if we would all be able to use our brain power to its maximum potential? We could all become Einsteins and make this world a truly better place to live in.

Unfortunately, that belief is quite a myth. It is a fact that we do use our brain 100% of the time. Because even if you take out a mere 2% of it, you could wind up being a vegetable or retard. It’s the ‘how well we use it’ part that is the missing link.

So, how well are you using your brain? Do you at least try to maximize your full brain potential? Or are you just letting it sit idly on top of your head? How do you even begin to maximize your brain power?
There are three crucial keys that will dictate how well you are using your brain power.

1. Pay attention

When you pay attention, you are present at the moment. Your mind is not wandering elsewhere. You are here, now, inside this room at this very moment. You see, hear, feel, taste what is here in front of you at present time.

If you know that you are poor at this, try taking a stroll outside. Once you’re there, take notice of everything around you. Describe the things you hear feel and see.

2. Really Listen

This next key is what you should do next after you pay attention especially when you’re paying attention to someone who is talking. This will force you to really listen, understand what’s being said and should you have queries and other debatable matters you want to delve into, then you may well ask the other person. This will not only help you pay real attention, but it wil also make the other person feel important because they are really listened to. Wouldn’t it be great if they do the same thing to you?

3. Be selfless

We love talking and thinking about ourselves all the time. We all have the “me, myself and I” syndrome and we can’t seem to stop it. We do it automatically that we are not aware of this behavior of ours most f the time. By always thinking about ourselves, we are limiting the things our mind can do and think of. Why not try to think about other things and collaborate with other people’s ideas for a change? By doing so, we get more ideas, we learn new things and we to use our full mental capacity.

Practice these things. They will help maximize your brain power and realize your brain’s full potential. For best results, do the Brain Evolution System. It has tremendously helped me in my concentration and even helped boost my IQ. Many have tried it and said the same things too. For any queries, do email me at Karen@samuelprime.com..

How to Unlock Your Brain Potential

Everybody would love to know what the secret is to unlocking brain potential. Who wouldn’t want to be smart? Many great thinkers know that the key to unlocking the potential of the mind lies in the subconscious realm. Let’s take the story of the inventor of the sewing machine, Isaac Singer, for instance. One day, in his dream, he saw himself putting the eye of the needle near the point. This prevented his invention from going to the mountain of scraps. His dream shows that the subconscious mind is still working even when one is deep in slumber. And now, look at how his invention ha contributed to our culture and economy. Where would we be without Singer?

Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, and Einstein, the proponent of the theory of relativity, both agree about the power of the subconscious mind. They both know that it indeed unlocks a lot of brain power and shouldn’t be disregarded. Even if you are no Einstein or Edison, now that you also know this think, then you can start applying it in your life.

One way to do this is to practice the Brain Evolution System even for just 30 minutes for the next 2 months. Just listen to the sound of the brain waves and let your subconscious mind do the rest of the work. In two months time, you would’ve unlocked your brain power and increased your IQ.

Just think of the possibilities it can bring you. You will be able to get that much awaited promotion and higher salary in your office; or you can now go find the job of your dream; or you may start working on your new business. You could enroll for college and get that degree you’ve been dreaming of; you can ace your GMAT and get admitted into the business school of your choice; you can even be admitted to MENSA!

So, do you want to be able to maximize your brain power and experience the quality of life you’ve always wanted? Let the Brain Evolution System help you out. Do read up on my other blog posts as well for more practical tips on how to increase your IQ and gain more brain power.

3 Ways to Dramatically Increase Your Concentration

We live in a world where multitasking is the name of the game. We do so many things all at the same time and we wonder how come our performance is not at par to the standards we have set for ourselves. For once, it would be good if we can just try to focus and be able to give our full attention to one task and get the results we really want --- great, fantastic, best results. We can actually do that if we know how to maximize our brain power, improve our brain power, improve our concentration and increase our IQ in the process.

Let me share with you some practical ways on how you can improve on your concentration and boost your brain power.

1) Music Therapy

I’m not really the type to listen to music. But when I started getting curious on how I can increase my IQ, I bought a CD of Mozart and started listening to his music. It felt weird at first since it’s not really my kind of thing. I’m more into ballads and country music. However, little changes started to happen. I began to feel a lot better about myself, I can now think clearly and if before I couldn’t focus on one thing, I now notice time fly by as I do one thing with honest concentration and focus. It was amazing!

I later found out that this kind of therapy has worked in a lot of extreme cases. There was even evidence in some studies I’ve read that listening to Mozart has helped decrease the number of seizures in epileptic patients. This is probably because Mozart’s music helps calm nerves and relax the mind. Furthermore, Dr. Alfred Tomatis, a French researcher, said in his studies that Mozart’s music promotes healing and brain development. The varying frequencies of his music exercises the neurons and connections in our brain and I totally agree.

2) Let’s Get Mental

Get involved in mind stimulating activities. Exercise those brain cells by solving puzzles and games. Read books, watch less TV, visualize your dreams, meditate. Learn new skills, language or get into a new hobby. This way, your brain develops new dendrites and fires new electrical impulses. This way, your brain does not stagnate and will keep developing to its full potential.

3) Meditate

I’ve mentioned meditation. Try to do Yoga for example. It’s not only good for the body but great for your brain too. By practicing to focus only on your breathing a few times everyday, you are teaching your brain to learn how to focus on just one thing. By doing so, when asked to focus on something at work, it will automatically to you and you will be able to deliver great results for your office and your company.

For best results, do the Brain Evolution System. It has tremendously helped me in my concentration and even helped boost my IQ. It did wonder for me, far beyond what Mozart’s music did to my levels of concentration and awareness. Many of its users say the same thing about it too. For any queries, don’t hesitate to email me at Karen@samuelprime.com.

How Can You Improve Your Learning?

I have described to you before the things you can do and the food you can eat in order to make sure that your brain has a steady supply of energy. With this steady supply of energy, you can maximize your brain power, increase your IQ, enhance your concentration, and improve your overall learning ability.

Did you know that the information you learn on a day-to-day basis is stored somewhere in your brain via three steps?

1. Ultra short –term memory

Here, the information you acquire only stays for about 20 seconds. They can be the things we see all around us, the impressions we have of them, things we hear in passing, scents we smell, etc. They are those things/data that are of not much importance to us and most of the time, we are not even aware of them. Of these things, should we need to remember them, we can acquire 3-5 of them simultaneously. The rest we forget very, very quickly. Otherwise, we would be overloaded with too much information that we don’t really need.

2. Short-term memory

Those impressions that are important, for the time being at least, we automatically move them to our short-term memory. For instance, we met someone for the first time and we’d like to remember his/her name so we know how to address him/her properly. We move this information to our short-term memory the moment we try to memorize the name in our heads. This signals our brain that this piece of information is important, thus, it automatically moves the information from the ultra short-term bank to the short-term memory bank. There are about seven to nine chunks of memory pieces that we can store in this bank at a particular time. As more and more pieces are stored, the older pieces are either bumped to forgetfulness or moved to the long-term memory bank if accessed more often.

3. Long-term

Those pieces of information that are regularly accessed are then taken to the long-term memory bank. This happens when there is repetition of memorization and repetition of use. Information stored here stays longer because the synapses between neurons have been made stronger by the constant access to the information.

However, there is still a chance of forgetting something that has already been stored in the long-term memory bank. This means that the access to the stored information has been lost. When we increase our concentration, forgetfulness can be prevented. But how do we increase our levels concentration? This is where hypnosis and brainwave stimulation can be helpful. These things can help increase your IQ and maximize your brain power by ordering your brain synapses to make more connections. With better and more connections in your brain, the easier it is for you to access information at will. Try hypnosis and brainwave stimulation now. Many people have already used these techniques and have given very good feedback about the effects on their mental health and general well being. They will definitely help with your learning ability, increase your IQ, enhance your concentration and improve your overall learning.

Do check out the other secrets and ways on how you can increase your brain power and boost your IQ. It never is too late to want to be smarter. They worked so well for me and continue to do so. How Can Brainwave Entrainment Boost Your Brain Power? (Part II)

In my previous post, I started sharing with you what Brainwave Entrainment is all about. Basically, it is a technique people use to help increase their IQ and boost their overall brain power. Below, you will see more benefits as well as some contraindications so you will know how and when to use it.

Brainwave Entrainment System, though this is just like listening to your favorite music CD, is absolutely different. You can’t do this while driving or while doing other things. You can multitask as soon as you are done and you will notice how fast you will work and how quickly you will think. But don’t do it while listening to the Brainwave Entrainment System, ok? It must be done in a quiet, peaceful setting like inside your bedroom before going to sleep so you can wake up smarter, refreshed, rejuvenated and more active than ever.

In terms of side effects, you may experience headaches because for the first time, your brain is getting so much blood flow. You may also experience more lucid dreams. This is just an indication that your brain is getting all fired up and your brain power is getting boosted.

Like I described earlier, in Brainwave Entrainment, the frequency of the stimuli being absorbed by the brain is automatically followed. It is a technology that incorporates subtle beats and pulsations into the music. When you listen to these pulses, your brain starts to alter your mental state. If before you feel drained, now you will feel relaxed or motivated. For instance, for those who are feeling panicky or anxious, it means you are producing too many beta waves which are bad for your mental health and general well being. When you listen to brainwaves, it will help your brain produce more alpha waves instead which is why you will start feeling better, a first sign that the system is working for you.

For those who always have difficulty focusing, causing you to fail at classes and at tasks you do, this means that your brain has been producing a particular pattern all these years. Brainwave Entrainment can change that. What it will do is speed up your brainwaves so that it’s easier to concentrate. Faster neural connections in the brain will prevent one from losing his/her train of thought. Continuously listening to the audio CD will make your left brain dominate your entire brain in order to increase your concentration, boost your mental power, prolong your memory and increase your IQ. This in turn reduces your emotional responses, therefore eliminating your mood swings too. Isn’t it hard to accomplish something when you feel emotional all the time? When you always feel like quitting and running away from everything? I know it’s hard. I’ve been there. And I thank the heavens everyday I’m over that phase of my life now.

Anybody who wants to make concrete changes in their life can use the brainwave technique. Anyone who wants to become smarter, feel more relaxed, boost their brain power, increase their IQ now has a chance to do so. It does not only do these things but it also cures insomnia, panic & anxiety attacks, over fatigue, chronic migraines and tension.

Now you have all the basic information you need to make that decision to make a difference in the quality of your life. It’s not yet too late to become smarter and live a better life. You know you’ve always wanted to just like I did. Here's the link. Check it out now and increase your IQ in no time.

How Can Brainwave Entrainment Boost Your Brain Power? (Part I)

I have mentioned a couple of times on this blog a certain technique that helps increase your IQ and boost your brain power. On this particular post, I will discuss what this technique is and why has it been very popular among many and have been receiving fantastic reviews from its users (including myself). This technique is Brainwave Entrainment and I will be sharing with you what this is all about. I will also discuss the benefits you will get once you start listening to it. Read carefully as this will aide you in boosting your brain power and increasing your IQ. You do want to be smarter right? You do want to ace those tests you’ve been taking in school and get promoted in that job you’ve been eying for so long. You do want a better quality of life, right? Read on…

It’s been a little over 70 years since Brainwave Entrainment has been first put to study. Brainwave Entrainment is all about the electrical responses the brain makes as a response to the rhythmic sensory stimulation, such as pulsation or vibration of light or sound. It’s been used since time immemorial and people don’t even realize this. Notice how calm you feel when you watch a sunrise or sunset? How about when go out for a walk along the beach? How does the sound of the waves affect you? Here in the city, when you go out and party, attend a concert or listen to upbeat music, or perhaps, listen to a Michael Jackson song, how does it make you feel? Even the simple watching of TV is brainwave entrainment in action.

As our brain gets stimulated, either through our eyes, ears or any of the other senses, it tends to emit electrical charges as a response to the stimuli. What you eventually see and hear are those electrical responses that traveled all throughout your brain. These rhythmic stimuli, like the sounds and images being presented to the brain, were the representations of these rhythms. As the rhythms get consistent, it will eventually resemble the natural internal rhythms of the brain or what we call brainwaves. As soon as this happens, our own brain’s electric cycles get synchronized in similar rhythm.

You might be wondering if this kind of mind practice is safe? It definitely is. Brainwaves always get activated no matter what you do. It’s just a matter of channeling these waves properly so you can maximize its full potential. Take for example the recent loss we had in the musical entrertainment industry. The King of Pop just died and all we hear everywhere is his music. Fans all over the world are mourning and listening to his music and watching his videos all the time. By doing so, they are entertaining their brains in some way, perhaps, both in happy and sad ways. Brainwave Entrainment works in a similar manner except that results are more focused and not just for sheer pleasure or enjoyment. However, if you have experienced any serious illness that has got to do with your brainwaves such us seizures, epilepsy, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and any other brain sickness, consult with your physician first before using the Brainwave Entrainment System.

Now, for those who are in the clear of using this system in order to increase your IQ and boost your brain power, you only have to listen to the CD on a regular basis, say, 30 minutes every day for at least two months.

If you want to know how long before the system will take effect, it will actually depend on how receptive you are, how long and how consistently you listen to the CD. But, just like me, it is possible to notice some changes as soon as your first session is over. Concrete positive changes will start showing after about two weeks of continuous listening. What happens is, the more you listen to the brainwave recordings, the faster your brain adapts to it and the easier your brain produces the frequencies in the recordings on its own. It’s like having a last song syndrome of your favorite song or a song you’ve just heard but couldn’t seem to get it out of your mind. Only this time, the effects are more lasting and scientific.

I will continue sharing the benefits and some contraindications about it on my next post. For now, check out the Brainwave site and ponder upon it. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me at Karen@samuelprime.com.

Five Steps to Ace Your GMAT

If you want to get into that dream business school for your MBA, you’d have to be able to ace your GMAT first. GMAT, without a doubt, is a very difficult and time-consuming facet of the MBA application process. In order to lessen its difficulty and to be able to use your time wisely while confidently scoring 700+ on your test day, follow these simple steps:

1. Create a Timeline
Plot a three-month schedule of how you will prepare yourself physically, mentally and intellectually for the much awaited test day. Always learn from your mistakes and make your timeline as organized as possible.

2. Do Practice Tests
As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect” so practice away.

3. Track Your Errors
When you do your practice tests, label those entries that you find hard to answer, where you are slow in answering and those that you find easy. This will pinpoint your weaknesses and be able to practice more on them. This could potentially improve your score by 40 points.

4. Organize Your Studies
Follow this order when studying:

Kaplan Premier, Manhattan GMAT, or Princeton Review Study Guides

The layout of the GMAT is explained in these books including the kinds of questions that you will be tackling in each section as well as the general strategies you can use to ace the test. Once you’re done with these books, you may move on to the official GMAT study guides since they include questions from actual GMAT tests.

By this time, you are already aware of your weak spots. Use these guides to narrow down your strengths and weaknesses. Of course your weaknesses will require the most work from you. Use the tracking errors you’ve made so you would know where to spend most of your time studying and perfecting your answers.

5. Do Serious Practice Tests
Practice answering tests under real testing conditions. Try to work on 20-40 problems in each category of the GMAT every week and then, on the weekend, take one timed test under real testing conditions. That is, give yourself 3 hours to take an uninterrupted Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT) with one fifteen minute break following the exact structure of the GMAT.

Aside from doing practice tests, having better IQ also helps to get a great GMAT score. Take a look at this opportunity, people gave a really good feedback about it.

Doing these simple steps will help boost your learning in time for the real GMAT test. Do them seriously and religiously. Soon, you’ll be on your way to getting that dream MBA school of yours.

Bad Brain Food Explained

In my previous post, I discussed the kinds of foods that are good for your brain and exactly how they affect your brain functions and help increase your brain power . Were you able to experience for yourself the unique benefits of legumes, fruits and the likes?

In today’s post, I will share with you those foods that are considered bad for your brain. You may already know this but still, it’s good to be reminded of them from time to time.

Alcohol, Nicotine and Fats

It is common knowledge that alcohol is a no-no for the brain. It is something that goes straight to the bloodstream, killing brain cells in the process. No wonder you’d get tipsy or worse, drunk, and would lose control over your speech and motor skills. Nicotine, on the other hand, constricts your capillaries causing restriction of blood flow to your brain. With no blood flow, there is no oxygen. And with no oxygen, you have poor brain functioning. Hydrogenated fats, though more subtle in its effects, can still cause heart disease by clogging the arteries which is similar to what nicotine does to capillaries. In the long run, alcohol, nicotine and hydrogenated fats can kill you faster. Therefore, a change in diet is a must. The sooner you eliminate these things from your diet, the better.

Artificial Food Substances

Another type of substance that can cause decrease your brain power are the artificial colorings and flavorings that are present in processed food. They cause erratic fluctuations in blood sugar levels causing mood swings, fatigue and erratic behavior. You don’t need to memorize these foods. Just stay away from all refined flour and sugar products (potatoes aren't so good either if taken excessively).

In order for you to understand it better, here’s an explanation:

Carbohydrates you take in are eventually turned into blood sugar and 20% of these carbohydrates are used by your brain. Your brain prefers to have a steady supply of blood sugar rather than a huge supply of it. That is why blood sugar fluctuation is a no-no. This happens when you go on a yo-yo diet such that one day you eat a lot in one sitting, the next day you go on an extreme diet. It would be better if you eat plenty of times in a day but in small amount. This way, your blood sugar is at a steady flow. Do note that simple carbohydrates like processed flour products and sugary foods can cause wild fluctuations. Wild fluctuations cause sugar rush into the bloodstream. When this happens, there’s a rush of insulin which leads to hypoglycemia or plunging blood sugar level which in turn causes the release of adrenal hormones or having that “sugar high” feeling. With these sugar highs and sugar lows, you will be sure on your way towards irritability, mood swing, sleepiness, inattentiveness, etc., all of which are not conducive for maximum brain functioning.

Always remember that complex carbohydrates are the best brain foods. They help increase your levels of brain power. Their molecules are long so the intestines take a lot of time to digest it into simple sugars that the body can use. This then causes a steady supply of sugar into the bloodstream rather than the fluctuation which I have described above.

In addition to these things, having a better IQ will also boost your brain power. Check this site and see if it can also help you like it did a lot of other people.

Brain Food, Want Some?

In some of my previous posts, I’ve mentioned about food that can help increase your brain power such as drinking the right amount of caffeine, taking Gingko Biloba and eating fish. However, these are not the only ones that do a wonderful job in boosting your IQ.

In this post, I will give you more examples of food that are good for your brain and we’ll call them “Brain Foods”. Like the name suggests "Brain Food" are those that aide and enhance your brain function. Fish, for example, is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which clear blockages in blood vessels therefore allowing the nerve cells to function at an optimum level. This is why it is crucial to eat fish at least twice a week. For people who dislike the taste of fish, you may take omega-3 fatty acids supplement.

Here are some more examples of food that are considered “Brain Food”:
Avocados, Bananas, Beef, lean Brewer's yeast, Broccoli, Brown rice, Brussels sprouts, Cantaloupe, Cheese, Chicken, Collard greens, Eggs, Flaxseed oil, Legumes, Milk, Oatmeal, Oranges, Peanut butter, Peas, Potatoes, Romaine lettuce, Salmon, Soybeans, Spinach, Tuna, Turkey, Wheat germ, Yogurt.

Foods that have low glycemic index (GI) are considered good for your health because they slow down the distribution of sugar in your blood stream. Fruits naturally have low glycemic index which prevents one from having the so-called “sugar rush” and “sugar crash”. The whole ones rank lower than juices because the natural fiber slows down the absorption of fruit sugar. These are grapefruit, apples, cherries, oranges, and grapes.

Cereals and grains like oatmeal and bran are best. Spaghetti and rice also have a relatively low GI as compared to corn flakes sugar-coated cereals and white bread which have higher GIs. The higher the GI, the faster the release of sugar into the bloodstream and the quicker one will feel tired and lethargic. How can you think properly if you’re feeling sluggish, right?

Vegetables and legumes like soybeans, kidney beans, chick peas, and lentils are great brain foods because these vegetables contain the lowest GI. Potatoes and carrots are not that good for brain power because they have a much higher GI.

Dairy and milk products have low glycemic indexes. It’s a bit higher than legumes, but lower than fruits. Nevertheless, they are still good for the brain.

The way you eat your food also has an effect on the way your body and brain use these foods. For example, if you eat foods high in sugar after you eat legumes may still delay the absorption of sugar, thus preventing sugar blues. Fats and ice cream do the same as compared to low fat yogurt with sugary fruit. Also, try not to overcook starches because this would be like pre-digesting them, causing them to release sugar into the blood stream a lot quicker.

Proteins provide amino acids that help increase brain power. Amino acids such as tryptophan and tyrosine are the building blocks of neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are our brain’s signal carriers from one brain cell to another. Therefore, feeding these carriers with amino acids via proteins we eat are good for overall brain functioning.

Proteins helps optimize brain performance. They contain amino acids, the building blocks of neurotransmitters. They are the ones that carry signals from one brain cell to another. Therefore, the better you feed these messengers, the more effectively they will enhance your brain power.

These are the good brain foods that you must be sure to eat to help maximize and optimize your brain power. In my next post, I will discuss the kinds of food that are bad for your brain and why you should avoid them.

In addition to the above information, having high IQ is also a great way to help maximize your brain power. Take a look at this opportunity where many people have given good feedback about it.

The Secret to Boosting Your Brain Power Despite Stress

While it is okay to have some stress in our system which may improve attention, boost intelligence and increase memory retention in the short term, having it for a longer period of time can actually do more harm than good. Research suggests that prolonged exposure to stress can even bring brain damage. Therefore, when we are faced with imminent danger, we need to have heightened awareness and the complex ability to deal with the crisis.

These days, even if we rarely experience life threatening situations, we still react as if we are in grave danger. What happens is we release huge amounts of cortisol and other adrenal steroid hormones in our system as a stress response. These stress substances block the formation of new neurons in the hippocampus and prevents the storage of new memories.

Some recent research suggests that chronic stress can lead indirectly to cell death as well. What we don’t realize is that we’re just reacting to our own thoughts of worries and negative thinking. These stress responses remain with us for hours at a time, even getting worse as more anxiety-causing thoughts bring forth more thoughts of the same kind.

Exposing our brain to this kind of damage tremendously reduces our brain’s ability to perform creative problem solving techniques which results to downwards spiral of reduced brain function. Therefore, it is important to manage your stress levels and always think positive. Of course it is always easier to say these things than to actually do them.

Others are gifted with the ability to remain positive despite stress while many others just couldn’t cope and are consistently exposing themselves to harmful body chemicals released during stressful situations. This is where certain tools such as hypnosis and brainwave systems come into the picture and help reduce stress and improve brain power. They will help you cope better with very stressful situations instead of totally abandoning them and denying yourself the ability to perform creative mental solutions to the problem.

Hypnosis and brainwave techniques have been used by various people to help them boost their brain power in much needed situations and it has always worked. I tried it myself and I can’t believe how many positive results it has given me all throughout this time. Check out this hypnosis site that I used. You can do it too. Find out for yourself. Take look also at this brainwave link. A lot of people (including myself) are giving very good feedback about it. Note that your thoughts are not the essence of you. You have the power to not let them overwhelm and control you. But it’s better to face and deal with them with a healthy and positive outlook and perspective. Let hypnosis and brainwave techniques help you in that arena and before you know it, you’re already boosting your brain power and are on your way to a better, happier you.

Let me know what you think. Have you tried hypnosis before? Also, sign up and register to the Newsletter (fill the form above at the right) and email me for any suggestions and comments you may have at Karen@samuelprime.com.

7 Cool Tips to Boost Your IQ

It has been believed before that a person’s IQ is solely determined by that person’s genes. But thanks to modern science, it has been proven time and again that this is not the case. A person’s IQ is quite malleable and with the right tools to boost one's IQ, like improving one’s working memory, anyone can enjoy having increased intelligence over time.

Of course genetics and the early gestation period play a large role in determining one’s IQ but it is not the end all and be all of having a high IQ. If you want to get the results that you want, try the following tips on how you can boost your IQ:

1. Play games Whether it be on your PSP, Xbox, computer, Wii, etc., playing games will help your mind work at spectacular speeds, strategizing and coming up with ways to win the game.

2. Sketch it It’s like keeping a diary at your bedside table. But instead of writing words, sketch the things you see in your mind. This is very crucial in developing complex reasoning abilities.

Bold 3. Solve puzzles Try not to ignore the puzzle pages when you browse through magazines and newspapers. Put some effort in solving them instead. Solving puzzles is a very good exercise for your brain. It helps extend dendrites (those tentacle-like branches in your brain that help carry massive information) in your brain and aide in the overall improvement of memory. Your mind will become sharper and you will be better at coming up with creative solutions.

4. Choose your scent There are particular scents and fragrances that help boost concentration, enable one to think clearly and lessen mistakes. Lemon scents, for instance, activates your hippocampus; Lavender relaxes your mind and helps you think more clearly; Jasmine can stimulate and excite your senses; etc.

5. Watch TV Game Shows There was a study done in UK that found watching The Weakest Link for at least 30 minutes can raise your IQ by six points while a documentary can increase your IQ by four points while the famous show Friends can boost your IQ by one point.

6. Wishful Thinking
Daydreaming is not bad as long as it’s not what you do the entire day. When you free your mind, you are detoxifying your brain and letting it rest and recuperate from stressful stimuli. Do this for 10 minutes at least every day and see how your mind works better after.

7. The power of multitasking
By doing at least two things at the same time, like listening to a radio while watching TV, can help your mind focus on something much better. Try getting information from both TV and radio then focus on one after the other. This exercise boosts your brain power and makes you better at focusing on things/work at hand.

Try these cool tips and experience a boost in your IQ. More to come on my next posts. For now, you may check out the other secrets and ways on how you can increase your brain power. Five Interesting Facts About The Brain (Part II)

In my previous post, I’ve mentioned five interesting facts about our brain. Hopefully, you were able to appreciate it and from there, putsome ideas to action so you may be able to take care of your brain some more, be able to boost your mental power and increase your intelligence in the process. On this post, I will share with you five more interesting facts about it. Some of you may already be familiar with these ideas but it doesn’t hurt to refresh one’s memory about it. And with a healthy brain, comes a wealth of greatness for humankind.

1. Your Brain is Nocturnal

You may not believe me when I say this but our brain tends to get more active at night. I know that its during day time when we are involved with so many tasks and activities. But at night, our brain works harder. This happens when we fall asleep. That’s when the brain does its own thing like repairing damages, rejuvenating itself, dreaming so it can connect to the conscious level, fix what needs to get fixed. No wonder that the next day, you feel like a brand new person all over again! This just means that the brain was able to do a good job the night before. For tjos who don’t feel this way, it just means that you need to allow your brain to get a good night’s rest so it can do its job well and in turn, be more useful for you during the day.

2. Life of Neurons is Not Fair

Neurons, like people, are not created alike. Some travel as fast as hundreds of kilometers per hours. Some travel as slow as ½ meter per second. It all depends on the type of neauron and what kinds of information are being carried to the brain.

3. Neurons are like growing babies

Scientists and researchers in the field of Neurology believed for a long time that neurons don’t regenerate. They thought that whatever it is that we are born with, we are stuck with it. I actually remember my teacher back in Middle School telling us the same thing. However, recent research had found out that this is not the case. Neurons do grow and replace dying ones. This poses the possibility of someday curing illnesses in the central nervous system such as Alzheimer and other kinds of brain damage.

4. 80% of Your Brain is Water

I’ve mentioned in my previous post that our brain uses 20% of the oxygen we breathe. The rest of the 80% is water. Our brain needs water in order to fully function well. So the next time you experience headache, before you swallow that aspirin you keep in your pill box, drink a glass of water first. Most probably, you are just dehydrated and need a quick supply of good old O2. This is also why alcohol is extremely bad for your brain. It is a diuretic which means, it takes away water from your body as well as your brain. SO the next time you get hung-over, drink plenty of water. That should ease your intoxication. Better yet, don’t drink alcohol at all.

5.No Pain in The Brain

The pink squishy material that is made of 80% water itself does not feel pain at all. It is the pieces of tissue that surrounds it that helps alerts you when your brain is in possible danger. But taken it itself, though it consists of a lot of blood vessels, has no pain receptors, therefore, it cannot really feel pain. This is why in most brain surgeries, patients are able to undergo such operations by being awake.

Now that you know more fascinating trivia about the brain, I can only hope that you will take better care of it. Our brain is a wonderful thing with a lot of potential to help bring greatness in our life in general. It has the capacity to keep on developing and improving itself. With our brain, we can be smarter, we can boost our brain power, we can be more intelligent.

In addition to the information on this post, it also helps if you have high IQ. You may check this site for more information. Many users have already given very good comments and assessments about it.

Five Interesting Facts About The Brain (Part I)

Human brains are actually like super computers. How many times has it been depicted in movies that ultimately, our goal is to be able to produce a human machine similar to that kid in the AI movie with super brain power? Why create something like us when we already have us? Sounds crazy? But the truth is, our human mind can do so many things especially if used in its maximum potential. We can boost our own IQ, in crease our memory and so much more!

For this post, I will share with you some interesting facts about our brain. Aren’t you curious why it’s been the subject of studies for decades now? Even in movies, Frankenstein stole one for his monster, zombies in many horror flicks have sought them out. There really are a lot of amazing things about our brain, you see.

For me, our brain is the most important part of our body. In dying situations, even when the heart beat has been long been gone, if there are still minor impulses detected in the brain, the patient won’t be considered dead…yet. The moment the brain is no longer transmitting impulses, then that’s the time the patient is pronounced clinically dead. Well, think about it… we most often than not take our brains for granted. But without it, how can we process all these information all around us? How can we hear, smell, feel, taste? Actually, without it, we’re nothing. The heart can be transplanted. But the brain? Good luck with that!

Moreover, without the powers our human brains can do, we would’ve probably still be living in the stone age. The only good thing about that would be living in an unspoiled world. But that’s another story.

We wouldn’t be experiencing the countless amazing things we have today --- great cities, electronics, computers, airplanes, jets, ships, etc… We wouldn’t have that hunger for more knowledge and advanced way of life. We wouldn’t know the world as we know it.
Setting aside the power of our minds, the human brain in itself is a very fascinating organ or our body. Here are some facts that will tell you why.

1. Terabyte Storage Capacity

You know what a gigabyte is right? Anybody who ever uses a computer knows what a gig is. But a terabyte is so much more than that. Quantitatively, its storage capacity is equivalent to over a thousand gigs.

Scientific studies have discovered that the human brain is capable of storing information of up to 1,000 terabytes. Imagine Britain’s National Archives which currently stores around 900 years of information for an entire country. That is only equivalent to 70 terabytes. The human brain can do more than that with plenty of storage room to spare! Amazing! Who needs a computer when we can do that? Our brain is so much more powerful than any super advanced computer we have right now. So to those who don’t believe that they have the capacity to learn more, to be smarter, to increase their IQ, well, think again. Maybe, this is what the Catholic Bible means when it was written that humans are created in the image and likeness of God, the creator. We have so much potential for brain power inside of us. We just need to unlock it and use it well. Then we can be like God, making greater and bigger things for the good of mankind.

2. Electricity in our Brain

I remember watching this movie, The Secret, where Bob Proctor said that we have the power to light an entire city for a week. He is right. This is because our brain uses electrical impulses…electrical power, generated by our body, in order to operate.

Even while we are sleeping, our brain uses the same electrical power as that of a 10-watt light bulb. That’s actually the caricature of a man with a light bulb on top if his head came from when depicting the act of thinking. This is also the reason why electrical gadgets and appliances that emit electrical impulses like cell phones, power lines, etc., can obstruct brain functions and cause damage in the long run. So try to stay away from these things when you can.

3. High Speed Electrical Highway

Pain is good, did you know that? It’s a signal that tactile sensations, whether it be pain, heat, or cold is immediately sent from your toe for instance straight to the brain at a speed of 170 miles per hour! This is why we immediately feel these things even if the point of origin is so far from your brain. It gets processed fast, so fast that it’s almost instantaneous. Without it, you won’t notice that your hand is burning or that your foot is getting pricked.

4. Hungry for Oxygen

Our brain is only a small part of our body, 2% to be exact. Yet, it uses 20% of the oxygen we breathe so it can keep on functioning. This is the reason that without oxygen, we die so fast. We can not eat for weeks and survive. We can not drink water for days and live. But a few minutes without oxygen, we die. Because without oxygen, the brain will stop functioning. When it does, those messages that go to and fro our different body parts will stop causing an immediate shut down of our internal organs then we die. The end of life for us. So to all smokers out there or those people who are constantly exposed to fumes and carbon emissions, save your brain and stop smoking, find a different job and change your lifestyle.

5. More Dreams for the Smart Ones

Scientists have studied that those people with higher IQ dream more often. But don’t fret if you are among those who don’t dream at all. Most probably you just don’t remember it. Most of your dreams last only for a few minutes and unless you wake up while we are in REM stage, it would be difficult to remember anything from your dream at all. This is also why you are told to keep a dream diary on your bedside table so you may record it the moment you wake up, if you remember anything at all.

These are just some of the interesting facts about our brain. Knowing these things can help you take care of it more so you may be able to maximize its use. By doing so, you are helping yourself get smarter, have higher IQ and increase your overall brain power.

There are also other ways to help increase your IQ. There's brainwave technique and there's hypnosis. I've tried them before and they worked. Many users have already found them very useful. Check them out and see for yourself.

I will share more in my next post. If you have questions, feel free to email me at Karen@samuelprime.com.

Six Ways to Improve Learning Skills

While most of us grew up thinking that we can only learn as much as our genes would let us, there are actually countless of ways you can adapt that can help you improve your learning skills, increase your IQ and improve your memory. I have already mentioned several approaches on how to boost your brain power in my previous blog posts and there are still more! It’s up to you which ones you would like to adapt for yourself. Perhaps you want to try everything and see which ones will suit you best and help you cope better with the increasing supply of today’s accumulated knowledge.

Let’s define learning, shall we?

In the very busy world of business, commerce and technology, what matters most is not how much you know but how much you can deliver at the most effective and efficient way possible. This is where having an increase in IQ helps. Having more IQ is not necessarily equal to having a lot of stored knowledge. Of course it helps that you know a lot of things. But if you don’t know how to process them, work with them and apply them in your business or life in general, then your knowledge would be of no use. This entails having specialized knowledge, skills and a huge amount of self-confidence to carry you through the toughest of ordeals. What you can do to attain a specialized set of knowledge is to choose a specific problem to solve in your line of work for instance and do well in solving it. This will then help you attract other opportunities of the same nature but with more challenging problems. This way of tackling things will then define your destiny in this field. It doesn’t matter what title you hold in your company. What matters is how good you are in learning how to tackle the problems in your company. This will determine your success in this ever changing world of business, commerce and technology.

An example of first stage of learning

There will always be times when we will come across new materials for learning purposes. It could be for business, for personal gain, a part of school project, etc. The first moment we lay our eyes on these materials, we are likely to become overwhelmed. Some may feel insecure, incompetent or fearful of the tasks at hand. But don’t fret. The moment we expose our mind to new things, no matter how confusing it may seem at first, we are already learning. The subconscious part of our brain is already assimilating and processing this new information. This is your first stage of learning. The sooner we get to this stage and overcome it, the easier learning gets. However, it also crucial to do this with an open & embracing mind, a mind that is curious and anticipating. This will help boost your brain power and maximize your learning potential.

The importance of breaks

This approach does not only apply to students but to anyone who is involved in accumulating a huge amount of data over an extended period of time. It is a must to schedule a 10-15 minute recess every two hours and a 3-5 minute break every 40 minutes. Studies have been undertaken which showed that when we study, we remember more those things that we have studied at the beginning and towards the end. Therefore, having a 3-5 minute break every 40 minutes will increase those first and last things we learned and thus increase our memory in the process. This approach will also give your mind some downtime to relax and recuperate so the next time you tackle new knowledge, your grasp of things will be sharper and your extent of productivity will be at an exponential level.

Intelligence all throughout your body

There are many kinds of intelligences. It does not only pertain to the academic kind. There are linguistic, bodily-kinesthetic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, interpersonal and intrapersonal kinds. Notice how your fingers adapt to learning new music when you’re playing with your keyboard or guitar for instance? It’s as if your fingers have a mind of their own. You don’t even have to think about it anymore. However, when you are learning something new and you notice that you are resisting, it may be your body’s way of telling you that you are not ready and that there are more important needs that your body has to meet. Perhaps, you’re hungry, Thursday, have errands to run, etc.? Stay attuned to what your body is telling you. When you feel that you are ready and are in that position of acute curiosity and anticipation, then that is when your mind will be more receptive to learning.

Paradigm shift

When the going gets tough..the tough changes paradigms! When learning new material gets to be so overwhelming, you may look at it from the perspective of a teacher. Just imagine that you will be teaching these things to your students so that you will be more receptive of the new information. Another way is by thinking of a particular person who could benefit well from the information you are learning. This way, your learning will have more value because it will have a seemingly desired application.

Kinesthetic Activity

I’ve mentioned above about the different kinds of intelligences. It is important to spend time in developing each one of them in order to become a very well-rounded person. One of these intelligences is the kinesthetic kind. By engaging yourself in activities of this nature, the more your brain develops more connections in the form of dendrites. The more connections there are, the more efficient and effective your thinking will be, the easier it is for you to learn. This is one sure way of boosting your IQ and memory power. So while you are also enhancing your other intelligences, take time to do some physical work to increase your brain power:

• Playing with your musical instrument
• Any sports • Painting
• Going on trips and experiencing other heritage and cultures

These things will also give your brain a much needed downtime or rest like I’ve mentioned a while ago. Isn’t it that when you are sleeping, you brain is still working and processing all those millions of data it has accumulated all throughout the day? Then you wake up feeling rejuvenated and refreshed? It’s the same thing when you are engaged in physical things that you love to do. Time flies by, your attention to the activity is at 100% and it therefore encourages you to use the other parts of your brain. When you get back to your usual work load, your mind will feel rested and you will work more efficiently and effectively.

Moreover, if you already have high IQ, your learning skills will definitely sky rocket! Take a look at this IQ site for more information where people really gave good feedback about it.

These are just some things you can do to improve your learning processes, help increase your IQ and boost your memory. Try them out and let me know what you think. You may email me at email Karen@samuelprime.com. for any comments and suggestions you may have. Or you may comment here. :-)

Can Positivity Make You Smarter?

Can thinking positive make you develop a more advanced IQ? Can positivity increase one's intelligence? Can you really transform your life with a positive attitude? Can it really make a difference in your life? Shifting paradigms from one that has been inculcated in us since the day we were born to embracing something good but is just not the way we were taught to think, feel and live is quite a difficult feat. But when done consistently and properly, studies show that it does result to having a well-balanced mindset, sound mental health, better life and greater purpose.
Things to remember:

  1. Positive thinking is not the same as wishful thinking or daydreaming. No matter how many good thoughts you project in a day, no matter how badly you want something to happen, if it remains just a thought, then it will produce no concrete results. Isn't this an obvious sign that one is not using their IQ very well?
  2. Thinking positive is not the same as being blind about the harsh realities of the world.. it’s not about denying that something is wrong. On the contrary, it’s all about facing the facts and dealing with one’s problems so that moving on to better things can be done faster and easier. With more IQ, this will become an easy feat to accomplish.
  3. Positivity, while being realistic and accepting the harsh realities of life, is more importantly about looking at the good things in every situation and maximizing those positive aspects so that they will work well with your life and from there, attract and build more positive situations.

People who are consistent practitioners of positivity do have better IQs than most that is why they tend to attract more blessings in their life, are stress-free, healthier and happier. There was a research done at the University of Texas that produced evidence that having positive outlook in life is crucial in delaying debility in older people. There was also a research done at North Carolina State University that frequently thinking negative thoughts restricts cognitive functions. Therefore, this means that embracing positivity can heighten your mental aptitude and even keeps you younger.

However, those who do find it hard to just immediately switch their paradigms from the negative things that they’ve gotten used to, to this new age of positive thinking, there are ways to go about it in a more scientific manner. One of which is hypnosis.

Hypnosis can do so many things! They can help you lose weight, get good grades, achieve financial stability and even increase your intelligence! Hypnosis is a tool that will help you focus more on the positive things and eliminate the negative things in your mind, heart and soul and eventually, in your life. Hypnosis will help you increase and maximize your brain power so you will only have to spend your time working on great things. Now, that is high IQ in the making! Check out this site for more information. Many people have tried it and gave real positive feedback about their experience with it.

Let me know what you think. Have you tried hypnosis before? Also, sign up and register to the Newsletter (fill the form above at the right) and email me for any suggestions and comments you may have at Karen@samuelprime.com.
